BI Developer (Frontend)

The BI Developer (Frontend) at ALDI designs and maintains Reporting & Analytics products for Supply Chain that enable data-driven decision-making across the company. Collaborating closely with data engineers and business teams, this role focuses on creating intuitive, high-performance visualizations by integrating diverse data sources. Working in an agile, international environment, the developer gathers requirements, validates usability, and continuously enhances dashboards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI / Tableau reports and dashboards, including semantic models and dataflows.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions that support data-driven decision-making.
• Lead requirement engineering activities, refine specifications, and collect feedback through usability testing and user research to continuously improve dashboards.
• Connect and model data from various sources using Power Query and Power BI / Tableau data modeling techniques.
• Ensure optimal report performance by leveraging best practices such as efficient DAX calculations, optimized data models, and appropriate use of aggregations.
• Contribute to best practices in Power BI / Tableau development, governance, and deployment to improve scalability, maintainability, and user experience.
• Collaborate across international teams and communicate effectively in English.

The knowledge I own

• Experience in business intelligence, including requirements engineering, dashboard development, and analytics projects.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI / Tableau.
• Experience in DAX and Power Query.
• SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling).
• Proven ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable visual insights.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
• Hands-on mentality with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Your tech stack: Microsoft Power BI (Desktop, Service, Dataflows), DAX & Power Query, SQL, Databricks.

• Experience with Azure ecosystem is an advantage.
• Programming experience in Python (e.g., for advanced analytics or integration) is advantageous.
• Experience in UI/UX and Design Systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the supply chain domain.
