DevOps Engineer for Business Technology Platform, Site Reliability Engineering team

BTP Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization is responsible for 40+ mission critical SAP BTP cloud services reliability. As demand grows for SRE, we are looking for a new committed DevOps Engineer who would like to develop their career within SAP and SRE.

Expectations and tasks

• Develop tools and advanced automation features that continuously reduce the need for manual intervention. We actively work on PoCs using LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Develop fundamental services, e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and reporting.
• Automate root cause analysis reports and develop standard operating procedures.
• Provide knowledge management in the team and between operations and development.
• Ensure excellent quality and maintain high standards in all processes listed in the relevant process map.
• Participate in SRE on-call one week per month.

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Docker.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate issues down to the application or code level.
• Ability to design and build automation solutions using at least one programming or scripting language.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and at least one observability/monitoring platform.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and modern deployment practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Anthropic Claude.
