Junior Technical Business Analyst

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Technical Business Analyst to support and drive the requirements and execution of the technical redesign and strategy of our platform to meet the goals of the business and delivery/implementation. Candidates should be fluent in Spring, databases, and database interface layers and associated Java development tools. The candidate will interface on a regular basis with other teams including internal IT teams across Wealth Management, the BA team, QA team, and global development team.

This is a Technical Business Analyst position, which is part of the job family responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying needs, and establishing requirements to enhance efficiency and productivity through a blend of business acumen and analytical skills. What you'll do in the role:

• Document business and functional requirements, business rules, User Stories and Epics
• Analyze business processes, functions and procedures across multiple business units
• Understand and document data requirements for banking products and downstream impact
• Create documentation that outlines data lineage and a framework for data governance
• Become a subject matter expert for banking product data; assist data consumers and development teams with data research/analysis
• Work with developers to define/document existing application infrastructure / architecture
• Assist with QA/Testing to review/refine test plans and create detailed test cases
• Support responses to Audit queries related to business process and IT implementation
• Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
• Lead Business Requirements from elicitation to business process flow mapping; create, maintain and groom the Product Backlog
• Drive Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with business stakeholders, system architects and technical analysts

What you'll bring to the role:

• 2-5 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
• Minimum BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Relevant experience in a large complex banking organization or major consulting firm acting in a business analyst or product owner capacity
• Experience in Agile Scrum or Kanban lifecycles
• Ability to document business and functional requirements, business rules, User Stories and Epics of a REST-based Banking API Management platform
• Good communication, teamwork, and influencing skills; ability to communicate effectively with technology and key business representatives
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
• Process analysis: ability to research and document end-to-end flows on complex processes and systems
• Competent and experienced in technology environments (platforms, applications, databases, organizational structure and teams involved in technology initiatives)
