Senior Database Engineer (AI-Enabled Data Platform)

We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer to support the design, build, migration, and optimization of a strategic KYC data platform supporting the transition from an existing KYC platform to a modern solution. The role will focus on database development, performance optimization, data migration, and integration activities while leveraging AI-enabled delivery practices to accelerate implementation and improve delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, structures, and database objects supporting the KYC data platform
• Implement data models and database solutions aligned with target architecture and business requirements
• Support data migration activities, including data loading, transformation, reconciliation, and validation
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, and database automation processes
• Monitor and improve database performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Solution Architects, developers, and integration teams to ensure seamless data flows and platform performance
• Support integration between legacy KYC systems, enterprise data platforms, and downstream applications
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to accelerate database development, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities
• Ensure all AI-generated code and database artefacts are reviewed, validated, and compliant with project standards
• Contribute to testing, deployment, go-live, and post-production support activities while maintaining high standards of data integrity and operational stability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Development, or Data Engineering
• Strong experience with relational database technologies, including PostgreSQL and enterprise database platforms
• Expertise in database design, schema development, data modelling implementation, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience supporting large-scale data migration, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration initiatives
• Proficiency in SQL, database scripting, stored procedures, and automation techniques
• Experience working with cloud-based database services and modern data platform architectures
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, or similar technologies to support development, database design, testing, and documentation
• Understanding of AI-assisted delivery approaches and governance practices for AI-generated artefacts
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments is desirable
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2+)
