• At Union, you will join a newly established team working on a greenfield initiative to build a modern, enterprise-scale AI & Data Platform.
• The team is building a centralized Data Lakehouse (DLH) platform, providing a scalable and secure foundation for enterprise data management, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
• Beyond developing the underlying cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities, the team focuses on enabling AI and machine learning solutions across business processes, working in close collaboration with business stakeholders to deliver tangible business value.
• As a Senior Cloud AI & Data Platform Engineer, you will develop, optimize and maintain Azure Data & AI Platform services supporting data engineering, analytics, machine learning and AI workloads.
• In this role, you will combine cloud platform engineering with hands-on Data Engineering and ML Engineering responsibilities. You will build scalable data platform capabilities, develop reusable MLOps components and collaborate with Data Scientists to bring machine learning models into production and ensure their reliable operation.

• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to transition models from experimentation into production

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ML Engineering, Cloud Platform Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, preferably on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python and strong SQL skills.
• Strong experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and distributed/parallel data processing.
• Proven experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines and applying data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with modern Data Lakehouse architectures.
• Proven experience with CI/CD and version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Excellent professional communication skills in English.

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) in production environments.

• Experience with analytical data platforms, OLAP systems, and data warehousing technologies.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and non-relational data modeling.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices.
• Experience designing and developing APIs and service integrations.
• Relevant Azure, AWS, or GCP certification(s).
