Senior Software Engineer (iOS)

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior iOS Software Engineer with strong expertise in native iOS development (Objective-C, Swift) and a solid understanding of backend technologies, to join our Boards Mobile team at the Center for Global Product Innovation in Budapest.

This role goes beyond traditional mobile engineering: we are seeking someone passionate about leveraging AI-driven technologies, automation, and modern development practices to deliver smarter, more intuitive mobile solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in complex technical environments, is highly collaborative, and brings an innovative mindset to solve challenges using both proven software engineering practices and emerging AI-powered approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, review, and test new features, enhancements, and support issues across iOS applications and integration projects.
• Integrate AI and automation where appropriate to improve app functionality, personalization, or developer productivity.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and cross-functional teams to shape technical requirements and user stories.
• Mentor junior developers, sharing best practices in iOS, backend, and AI-enhanced development workflows.
• Contribute to high-quality system documentation, operational guidelines, and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with global teams across North America and Europe, ensuring smooth delivery of robust, scalable, and intelligent software.
• Drive tooling, hosting, DevOps, and quality assurance automation initiatives to improve velocity and reliability.
• Take ownership of technical challenges, bringing curiosity and resourcefulness to ambiguous problems.

Required Experience & Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on development experience in software engineering.
• Proficient with Swift for iOS app development; experience with Objective-C is a plus.
• You can confidently use Xcode and Apple development tools for building, debugging, and profiling apps.
• Skilled in building interfaces with SwiftUI and UIKit.
• You have a solid overview of modern iOS app architectures like VIPER, MVVM, MVI or TCA.
• You can efficiently modularize large-scale production code bases.
• You can utilize Swift Concurrency features like async/await and actors; experience with reactive programming like Combine is a plus.
• Familiar with data persistence and local storage options on iOS like Core Data or SQLite.
• You can integrate RESTful APIs for backend communication and data exchange.
• You can configure and maintain CI/CD tools for automated app builds and deployments.
• Good understanding of dependency management tools like CocoaPods and Swift Package Manager (SPM).
• Experienced with performance tuning and profiling tools like Thread Sanitizer and Instruments.
• You have previously published and distributed apps through the App Store.
• You know how to distribute apps for testing and user feedback using tools like TestFlight.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills with ability to solve problems across diverse technology stacks.
• Familiarity with Source Code Control Systems (e.g., Git/GitHub).
• Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of teamwork, ownership, and accountability.
• Ability to manage personal workload, prioritize effectively, and contribute proactively to team goals.

• Curiosity and willingness to explore AI frameworks, APIs, or ML toolkits for enhancing user experiences and developer efficiency.
• Understanding of QA concepts and test automation, including AI-assisted testing approaches.
